Financial planning is like a financial physical.  We’ll look at your current financial situation and establish a path to get to your goals.

It’s important to note that it doesn’t matter where you are now.  People are often afraid to seek financial advice because they are concerned that they done things “wrong.” Understand that there is no judgement - it’s only a question of where you are now, where you want to be and establishing a path to get there.

AND – it’s not just about the numbers!  Money is an emotional topic.  Your views on money is of equal importance to the numbers.

Topics typically include:

  • General Planning - What is important to you both during your lifetime and and at your passing? What do you want your money to do for you? Often this involves planning for retirement. Earlier in life the focus can be a reasonable spending plan and paying off loans.

  • Retirement - Are you on track for your retirement goals? When should you start Social Security? Do Roth Conversions make sense for you? Are you saving in the most tax-efficient manner? Should you be doing Roth or Pre-Tax contributions? Are you saving too much?

  • Risk Management - What types of insurances do you have? Are they appropriate for your needs? Do you have enough or too much?

  • Investments - How are you currently invested? What asset allocation is appropriate for your personality and goals? Do you understand the investment vehicles that are available to you?

  • Estate Planning - Are your documents in order for when you pass or become disabled? Do you have the right people in place (Executor, Power of Attorney, Trustee)? We’ll have a discussion to help you prepare for your meeting with your attorney.

  • Income Tax Planning - Are there strategies that we should employ to reduce your income taxes now or in the future? Are you saving tax-efficiently? Do you have any charitable intent and are there any opportunities there?

What I don’t do:

  • Sell anything (other than advice)

  • Asset management

  • Prepare tax returns

  • Draft legal documents

First meeting is always free - we’ll have a conversation about what you’re looking to accomplish and whether or not it’s a good fit for us to work together.
